Bachelor Thesis of Leonhards, Igor
Modern simulation methods in acoustics can be used to solve difficult metrological problems: In particular, in the development of a hearing aid of the future, the ratio between radiated airborne and structure-borne sound from the hearing aid is still unclear. In the proposed thesis, a CAD model is to be created from existing MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) scans of the auditory system. Subsequently, the influences of both, airborne as well as structure-borne sound radiations, can be analysed by FEM simulations with respect to their ratios and final assessment of their relevances.
