Bachelorarbeit von Heiser, Ben

In order to improve binaural reproduction, individual head-related trans- fer functions (HRTFs) are used. In this work, two existing methods of ac- quiring individual HRTFs are compared. Both methods are based on differ- ent strategies and require different hardware. HRTFs are measured using a loudspeaker array with interleaved sweeps as excitation. The second method applies individualization strategies. It consists of applying a principal com- ponent analysis on the data set from a three dimensional ear scan under consideration of anthropometric dimensions. A subjective comparison of the binaural reproduction will be done by using verbal descriptors of perceptual qualities. A listening experiment using dynamic binaural reproduction will be conducted to compare the perceptual qualities of both methods with real sources as reference.
