The noise generated by the moving vehicles not only has been the main annoyance to people at home but also to the outside environment. This project aims at establishing a predictive model for moving sound sources and then apply for the auralization in Virtual Reality (VR). Auralization is understood as the process of turning predictive or measured acoustics data into an audible audio signal. With the models of moving sound sources, the auralization of dynamic virtual vehicles shall be conducted in in the aixCAVE, the five-sided immersive virtual reality environment in RWTH Aachen University. This allows immersive perception for subsequent subjective tests and evaluation. This research benefits urban planning and traffic management for outdoor scenarios and urban environments.
