It often happens when developing a product that a statement about the acoustic properties of a system is required even before its realization is possible. In such cases the methods and tools of numeric acoustics are particularly useful. Using the Finite-Element-Method (FEM), the Boundary-Edge-Method (BEM), Ray Tracing or other algorithms it is possible for example to calculate very complex sound fields and their reverberation from vibrating structures.
