For high-quality reproduction of music, loudspeakers with several sound converters for different frequency ranges are needed. The electric signal needs to be adequately scattered between the loudspeakers. Therefore, the converters’ transmission characteristics are determined with the aid of measurement technology and the deflectors’ separation frequencies are identified. By means of suitable simulation software, a network of resistors, condensers and inductors is defined, which provides the needed electric separation. Finally, the network is set up and the completed loudspeaker box is objectively measured and subjectively evaluated by listening.
