A demonstrator for individualized 3D audio

Head-related transfer functions (HRTFs) are used in the generation and presentation of virtual acoustical 3D environments. HRTFs vary greatly, depending on a subjects head and outer ear geometry. To improve the quality of and immersion a a virtual scene, the medical acoustics group has developed an individualization algorithm for HRTFs, that takes these parameters into account. As a next step, a demonstrator tool, where a user can manipulate a set of given anthropometric parameters in order to adapt a hrtf is to be developed. The effect of the changes should be auralized using a small set of predefined acoustic scenes.
