Technical acoustics deals with all physical and technical aspects of sound, including the perception of sound by humans. Accordingly, partial fields of technical acoustics include general acoustical measuring techniques, electroacoustics, room and building acoustics, psychoacoustics, vibroacoustics, as well as all questions concerning the generation, propagation, subjective effects and control of noise.
Research activities at the Institute of Technical Acoustics are focused on selected topics that are described in detail on this site's subpages.
